The mattress looked brand new and the bed was comfortable. Everything else felt dated and worn, though, and the dust piled in the corners was shocking. The kitchen counter and parts of the bathtub were cracked and peeling. The bedroom door couldn't shut because of how the wardrobe and bedside table were positioned. We also had to strip the bed and collect the used linens ourselves, which seemed like a job for the cleaners. Then the cleaning crew came into our room and started cleaning before we'd even checked out. Our check-in date was mixed up too. The bookings and receipts showed the date we had chosen, but reception had written down the following day. It wasn't a smooth or pleasant start to the stay.

The rooms were fine and the service was okay, but there’s still plenty to improve. The apartment kitchens had no dishwasher, microwave, or kettle. The top-floor baths sit right under the roof slope, so they’re uncomfortable for anyone taller than 1.75 cm. The biggest disappointment was that the hotel doesn’t take credit cards, and payment has to be made by bank transfer.

The location was good, but I had a lot of concerns about cleanliness. We were repeatedly told to put the blankets we’d used during the week back in the closet. How would the cleaning company know whether we’d used them? We got the same request about the dishes, which we washed and left to dry on the rack. I wondered whether they would be sanitized after we put them away. The property also wasn’t set up for small children. There weren’t even high chairs for feeding them.

The owners were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was excellent, with spectacular views of the Sassolungo. A fantastic residence, definitely one I’d recommend.

The beds are comfortable and the bathroom looks neat. But the shower is over the bathtub, and the ceiling is so low that I had to crouch to use it. The lift reaches the top floor, then there’s a staircase for the last stretch. The ski lockers are in the garage behind the cars, so be careful not to damage them.
