Sitting on the beach

We had a very pleasant stay in this holiday house. It's simply equipped, but has everything you need, and the location is especially good. The beach is lovely and wasn't busy during our stay, so we usually shared it with only a few other people. For nine of our twelve days, the water was calm with small waves, ideal for swimming with young children. The entry into the sea is gradual, reaching about a metre deep after roughly 15 metres. There's a great beach bar nearby with evening entertainment and sometimes live music. You can hear it at the house, but the sound is gentle and pleasant. Parking on the property is very convenient, and communication with the landlord went smoothly. During our stay, he kept to himself and gave us space. We had a lovely holiday and can recommend the house.

Alessandro and his family made us feel very welcome and were so friendly. Four of us stayed, including children aged 12 and 9, and the price and quality were excellent. The two houses are a good standard, with a large, tidy garden and a fully fenced property. Parking was perfect. The beach is spectacular, and nearby there are excellent restaurants, agritourisms, bakeries, and pizzerias. We absolutely want to visit again.

We spent two weeks at Casa Blue, with enough room in the garden that we never disturbed the other guests. The direct beach access leads to a beautiful, relatively quiet stretch of sand. The garden is lovingly landscaped with aloe vera, palms, and lizards, though there are mosquitoes too. It’s a little dated, but improvements were happening while we were there, including replacement of the gas stove. The modern fridge has a freezer compartment, and there’s also a microwave and small oven. The grills are small but work well for two and are easy to set up. Barbecuing right by the sea was fantastic. There’s a covered terrace and several places to sit, plus room for loungers in the sun or palm shade. A beach bar is right next door; during the season, you can sometimes hear music, but otherwise it's wonderfully quiet. With the windows open at night, you can hear the sea. Punta Secca is a walk along the beach or about 10 minutes away by road. Having a carport on the property means no searching for a parking spot. Alessandro communicated brilliantly, replied quickly, found solutions when problems came up, and took great care of us. We’d love to return.

We rented both the red and blue houses for our June holiday and had a wonderful time, enjoying the sea and all the colors of Sicily. The property has a lovely garden overlooking the water, with verandas for eating outside, and both houses are well equipped for a family holiday, whether spending time by the sea or having meals. The owners were very kind and helpful. The houses are only steps from Punta Secca, known as the home of Inspector Montalbano, and make a good base for Ragusa Ibla, Scicli, Modica, and Syracuse Ortigia. The beaches nearby are beautiful, especially Punta Braccetto with its dunes and long stretch of sand. For a quieter swim, the property faces a stunning, uncrowded stretch of sea with colors from pale blue to rosy pink in the sand, and easy access. Just open a door and the Mediterranean is like a huge swimming pool. It’s a peaceful place that captures Sicily for us. Thanks to Alessandro for his hospitality and for the lovely days. Elena
