Timparosa

My family and I stayed at Villa Timparosa from July 23 to 30, 2022, for €3,000, paid before we could use the villa rather than at check-in. There were five cats living there, a mother, father, and three kittens. They kept roaming around the tables and going into the kitchen, and we even found them on the table, so we had to keep the shutters closed all the time. We reported it to the agency, which said previous guests had left food for them. My wife is allergic and I had to buy her an antihistamine. The cats killed a dove and ate it by the pool, leaving feathers in the water. When the maintenance workers came and we pointed out the “corpse,” they cleaned it up. We’d already reported it by phone, but between the cleaning and maintenance, which went on until 4 p.m., we couldn’t use the pool for half a day. Flies were everywhere all week, making it impossible to relax by the pool, inside or out, or eat lunch on the patio. The same problem had happened the previous year and still hadn’t been fixed. We warned them before leaving, but it happened again. There was also a constant stable smell from the villa or neighboring villas, coming in gusts that repeatedly reached the pool and patio. The kitchen fridge didn’t cool properly, so we had to use the one outside under the gazebo, especially for water. There was no air conditioning in the kitchen and living room, which made things even more uncomfortable. The ground-floor master bedroom’s air conditioner was extremely noisy and unbearable at night. The awning over the patio and the first-floor balcony, where beach towels are laid out, was covered in bird droppings and hadn’t been cleaned. You had to be careful not to let towels hang too low, or they’d get caught in it. The cat situation was intolerable and unacceptable. We found bowls and kibble there. It’s unacceptable to anyone, including previous guests. Only €3,000, paid in advance.

Luana made our stay especially enjoyable. Each morning she treated us to a delicious breakfast and was full of useful tips about what to see and do nearby. The rooms were spotless, and the property has everything we needed, from air conditioning and Wi-Fi to beach gear. Set in a lovely garden, it’s also a great base for exploring Ragusa and the Val di Noto. Definitely worth a stay.

Luana was warm and professional from the moment we arrived, and the local products at breakfast were both plentiful and delicious. The grounds are clean and well organized, with plenty of space between the neighboring buildings. There’s ample parking, a garden, an above-ground pool, Wi-Fi, and a lawn for sunbathing. The property is fairly new and sits a few kilometers from Punta Secca, known for the famous “Moltalbano House” from the TV series. Prices are a little higher than average, though probably in line with what’s offered.

Luana was so helpful, and we’d happily stay here again after our four days. The property is spotless and very well cared for, with a great location close to all the nicest places to visit.
