B&B Mare Agrò

A car is handy here, since the town is a little outside the tourist areas. The beach is a five-minute walk away, and an ADR Supermarked is two minutes away, with some lovely restaurants in the area too. We stayed for a week as a family of three and had a large family room with a big balcony. Breakfast was included and really nice, with a croissant of our choice each day. Salvatore, his sister Alexandra, I think, and their mother run the place and do a great job. They’re all very friendly. Special thanks to Salvatore for helping us manage our (way too) large rental car all week and quickly arranging the Etna Tour.

Salvatore gave me such a warm welcome and was incredibly kind throughout. The rooms and shared areas were spotless, and the rooms have everything you might need, including a powerful shower and hairdryer. Breakfast was incredible, with real effort put into making it personal and getting the day off to a good start. I also got great suggestions for places to eat and things to see. It’s rare to find this level of care and service. A real gem.

We had such a good time and were sad to leave. Salvo was a great host, and nothing was too much trouble during our stay. This was our second visit to Salvo’s place. After a short break in 2019 for four, we were so impressed that we came back for two weeks. Our room was immaculate and cleaned to a very high standard every day. We enjoyed fresh fruit, juices, coffee, pastries, and a Sicilian specialty dessert in the courtyard each day. Salvo also suggested places to eat where the food was excellent, much tastier than back home in the UK, and much cheaper.

The host was lovely and shared advice on places to visit with Google Maps links. Breakfast was the most accommodating we had during our whole trip through Europe. An amazing place to stay. 5/5, and I’ll come back on my next Italian adventure.
