Villa dei Marchesi Carrozza

We planned on staying for two nights, then added another. The villa feels full of history, with its original beds, chairs and paintings, but the room was clean and tidy, with a good mattress and modern comforts like AC. The old doors don’t block much noise, though newer ones might take away from the character. I felt like a marquize relaxing in that historic room. Roberto was the real highlight: warm, genuine and friendly, with great suggestions for places nearby. He arranged our Etna tour and recommended Aloha Mare - amazing authentic sea food place. He knows lots of people and can get discounts on tours, so ask him for recommendations. Breakfast was a lovely surprise, with two plates of regional meats, cheeses and sweets instead of the scrambled eggs or pies we’d expected, plus fresh red orange juice. There was a small electricity issue during rail works, when the circuit safety switches kept popping out. Roberto would come back to the villa in 10min to turn them on, then let me into the private quarter and showed me how to reset them so he wouldn’t need to keep going back and forth. It was another sign of how much we could trust him. There are small turtles on the property too, and they’re very cute. You can feed them a few strawberries from breakfast. If we return to the east cost of Sicily, we’ll definitely stay here again. Grazie mille Roberto, you are a true host!

The garden is spectacular and the rooms are spacious. Roberto and his girlfriend were so friendly and pointed us to the best places for food and drinks. Staying here for our vacation felt like stepping into another era, almost like being in a castle. It was a unique dream of a stay, and we’ll definitely come back!

This 19th century villa was an unexpected, beautiful hideaway between ordinary buildings. The rooms were amazing, the hosts extremely supportive, and the place so peaceful and lovely. It became one of our favorite stays during two weeks of holidays in Sicily. We’re grateful they took us in, helped us through an emergency, and have preserved this special place so others can experience it.

Roberto’s old villa is beautiful, with a green fairytale of a garden out front. It’s in a convenient part of town, close to the strand and within easy reach of the POIs. Roberto is friendly and reliable. That place and its owner were the best thing that happened to us in this part of Sicily. Thank you, Roberto!
