Holiday Residence Punta Falcone

We stayed in the Prestige Bilo and had a perfect, really relaxing holiday. The big, beautiful apartment had its own terrace with an amazing view, plus a garden and private jacuzzi. We could also use the exclusive pool for this part of the resort. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good. A nice unexpected extra was access to an exclusive mini restaurant 24 hours a day. If you don't want to go out for lunch or dinner, you can make yourself a snack and have some good wine. The beach is a 10-minute walk away. Just be prepared to be reasonably fit, as there are stairs to the apartment and the resort sits on higher ground.

The resort is peaceful and the service was great. Cleaning was always done well and on time. It's right at the north end of the island, though, so getting to faraway places can feel isolating. One thing that bothered me was breakfast: plastic cutlery and paper plates at a 4-star hotel, with exactly the same limited selection every day. It was coffee, yoghurt with muesli in a paper cup, some fruit, and croissants, with no other options. Anyone who wants more variety in the morning will probably struggle, unless they cook breakfast themselves.

From the house, the view over Corsica and the channel was incredible. We were at Cavolo 1, near the pool, in a clean, well-kept, nicely designed house with a big garden. There are several beaches within a 10-minute drive, and the area has lovely trails for walks and runs. Nearby Santa Theresa has a great feel, good restaurants, and excellent gelato. We wanted an affordable May break, and Punta Falcone fit what we needed. We flew into Olbia, rented a car, and got here in an hour. Breakfast was sufficient, though limited because the resort doesn't have a proper kitchen. The wonderful staff and the freedom to eat as much as we wanted or take food back to our room more than made up for that. It was windy and a bit cooler during the first week, but the final three days of the second week were amazing.

The 3-room apartment was beautifully decorated, with a large romantic patio and a good-sized modern private jacuzzi set atop the highest cliff. The full sea views of the Strait of Bonifacio were unforgettable, and we could see Corsica every day. We have no complaints and will definitely return. It became a romantic experience of a lifetime. Mille Grazie, Donna Cinzia and team! Punta Falcone is already a lovely place, and Arborea Resort is its real gem, a private resort within the resort. We decided to upgrade as soon as we heard about the privacy, space, homey luxury, and the supply of quality food and drinks, day and night, from a fully stocked private kitchen. The staff were kind and helpful, and they learned our names right away, just as we learned theirs. Donna Cinzia, the owner and Queen of Arborea, deserves endless praise. During our fairly long stay, she handled every unusual request, called on her local network whenever something came up, and even made our cappuccinos herself in the morning. Arborea combines luxury with personal care and real kindness, and it works.
