The apartment was freezing when we arrived. We tried to heat it with the AC, but it kept switching off. The owner may have had the heating on a schedule, so we couldn’t turn it on when we needed it, and we were cold. There was no hot or warm water for the first 24 hours either. When we contacted the owner, he told us to let the tap run for a minute or two, but the water never warmed up. We couldn’t shower and had to boil water to wash dishes. After we raised the issue for a third time, the water suddenly became hot, and the owner came downstairs to show us it had been warm all along.

A spacious, nicely equipped apartment with very friendly and helpful hosts. You can see the peak of Etna from the garden. It’s also a handy base for exploring the eastern part of Sicily.

For anyone who enjoys nature and a bit of adventure, this quiet, green place is set among several hectares of land and feels peaceful and serene. My dog loved it, so it’s excellent for people with pets. Giuseppe was courteous and welcoming, and I highly recommend Fiori dell'Etna. Five stars.
