Villa Santadi Hotel

Matteo is a fantastic host and owner, with useful knowledge of nearby restaurants and attractions as well as places farther away. He suggested a hotel in Bari Sardo that sounded exactly right for me, though unfortunately it was already full. The rooms are spacious, clean, and modern, renovated four years ago. The building used to be a prison, and one cell is still there if you fancy staying in it, lol. Breakfast was tasty and filling, and you can sit in a shaded courtyard. I'd rate Villa Santadi 4.5 stars if I could. The weak Wi-Fi, probably due to the thick walls, kept this from five stars. I had to sit near reception at night to plan my next stop and get work done instead of doing it in my room. I've already suggested Matteo try a mesh system like Google Wifi, since reliable Wi-Fi matters these days. I also wish they used less electricity for the sake of fighting climate change. The corridor lights stayed on 24x7, when motion sensors could be installed, and an air conditioner in the bar was running full blast with the door open. Not great :-(

We were there for just one night, but my wife and I loved it. The owner and his family have created something absolutely amazing, with perfect rooms and top-level service. You can feel how much they love what they do. A high-quality place with real heart and soul 👌

We chose the location and a reasonable price because we wanted a quiet base for exploring this part of the island. We stayed for two nights in early September and were pleasantly surprised. The room looked just like the photos, with a good shower, comfortable bed, fridge, and effective air conditioning. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and adequate, and the reception staff gave us very good dinner suggestions. My only complaint was that breakfast started too late for me.
