La Foresteria del Convento

The historic-center location is beautiful, and the rooms are well kept with lovely views. I picked the place for that, then a nun opened the door and I realized it really was a convent. The nuns are incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast is served on a bench, refectory-style, which may or may not suit you. There's a respectful quiet for contemplation and meditation, and the nuns pray in the chapel right by the entrance. It's a lovely place, and everyone is kind. Just know you're staying with nuns rather than in a "normal" hotel. Probably not the place for a bachelor party.

This old convent has been recently renovated beautifully while keeping its natural surroundings in mind. It's a charming, timeless place, simply but comfortably furnished with antiques. The rooms are spacious and clean, often small family suites, with comfortable beds and modern, practical bathrooms. There's no luxury, but nothing is missing. The green valley view is lovely, and the nuns' quiet, attentive presence brings a sense of serenity. Breakfast is a real bonus, served in a spacious room overlooking the cloister, with cakes, biscuits, and jams the nuns make from produce grown in their own garden.

You don't need to be religious to stay at this little paradise in the heart of Santarcangelo's historic center. The convent welcomes religious and non-religious visitors, you just need to book. It feels like stepping into the opening of a Sorrentino-style film, with white walls and plenty of space to think. Breakfast comes with mocha coffee, homemade cakes, and cookies, served against a backdrop of medieval windows looking out on a green courtyard and vegetable garden. Sacred music plays, and prayers take place throughout the day.

What a lovely surprise. We hadn't realized what kind of place we'd booked until we arrived and found an hotel run by nuns, with a chapel near the entrance where they pray. Our room was bright, air-conditioned, and simply but elegantly decorated. Breakfast was modest, with moka coffee, homemade desserts prepared by the nuns, and fruit from the garden. The hotel is just a short walk from the center of this beautiful, picturesque village in Romagna. We'll definitely come back!
