San Giorgio ristorante b&b

The terrace has a splendid view across the sea and all of Sapri bay. That was the bright spot. We'd booked for 9:45 PM, but waited more than two hours and the pizzas still hadn't come. By midnight we left without dinner, and the evening was ruined by the restaurant's obvious organizational problems. The manager was kind and understood the trouble. He didn't charge us for the drinks and chips we'd had while waiting, which we appreciated, though it couldn't make up for the experience.

The terrace is a nice place to eat even in the heat, and the pizza dough is very good. The stuffed-crust pizza is a must-try, the beer is good, and the staff are friendly. Prices felt fair for such a pleasant summer spot. Parking can take a little time, and you may need to circle the lot out front, but it's easy enough to find a space. Recommended!

The terrace view is breathtaking and alone makes the location worth a mention. The staff were willing and welcoming, but there weren't many waiters and service felt improvised, which affected the meal. The food didn't have much personality, and the ingredients didn't seem up to expectations. Two of the four dishes we ordered came wrong. We kept the seafood salad, although we'd asked for octopus salad, but sent back the seafood dish served instead of paccheri with scorpion fish. My wife and I ended up eating about 25 minutes apart, and it spoiled dinner. It's a real shame, because with a setting like this and better organization in the dining room and kitchen, the place has potential.

I visited San Giorgio Lounge Bar & Pizzeria at Via San Giorgio, 10, Sapri, a few weeks before this review dated 06/06/24. The view over the Gulf of Sapri and its port was what stood out most. The place serves Mediterranean food, with plenty of pizza and traditional Italian dishes in a casual, welcoming atmosphere. It's also a lounge bar, so you can probably have an aperitif or cocktail there. My visit wasn't the best, though it was a Saturday. We waited 30 minutes for the appetizer, then found out the pizzas had arrived first. We decided against ordering an appetizer after the pizzas, since we didn't want to risk an even longer wait. I liked the food quality and the panorama, so I'd still recommend going at least once.
