Agriturismo La Madonnina

We had a relaxing weekend, felt at home, and didn’t spend much. It’s a farmhouse, not a five-star hotel, but it has what you need for a few easygoing days and a lovely pool. The food reminded me of grandma’s cooking, though there isn’t much choice. Skip the pasta with that wonderful sauce and it’s a blast. If you ask, the owners will do their best to accommodate you. A little fridge in the room would be a nice improvement, but we had a good time. Have a good life!

The owners were kind and courteous, and I expect things may be different in the height of the season. We spent two nights with friends on June 1st and 2nd, while it was still early in the season. There were a few small problems: the pool couldn’t be used, meals had little variety, and at least our room could use some improvement. Three stars says enough, OK.

Breakfast was very limited, just one croissant each, a few slices of what I think was homemade cake, and one drink per person. We stayed for two nights and three days, four of us. The restaurant was closed, possibly because it was low season. The pool was unusable because of the weather, and it was dirty anyway, so we couldn’t have used it even if the sun had been out. There was no hot water. We reported it and didn’t even get a €1 discount.

After a day cycling, arriving tired and hot, the pool is a real treat. The food is excellent, especially the stuffed eggplant, and the rooms are very clean and welcoming. This was my second stay at this lovely agriturismo.
