Santa Caterina Park Hotel

It's an average, clean hotel, and the staff were really nice. The showers are great and the beds are decent, though the pillows weren't comfortable at all and could use more variety. I liked the little gardens off the ground-floor rooms, and being pet friendly was a win for us. The location works for our work trips, so we'll stay again if we need to. It's reasonably close to the sea for a holiday, but you'll need a car. No complaints.

We liked the calm, beautiful backyard on our second stay here. The room was spotless, and the Junior suite was a comfortable size, with lovely linen, a good mattress, a roomy closet, and a nice bathroom. Chiara made our last-minute phone booking easy and made us feel at home. She was organized and cheerful, and even remembered which room we liked from last year. The restaurant next door is a must. Esteban looked after our table again with great care, and the cuisine was excellent. Thank you, see you next year!

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, but that couldn't make up for the other problems. The hotel feels dated, and the advertised amenities are misleading. There's a lovely pool, garden, and restaurant, but they aren't part of the hotel. Access to the pool and garden costs 25 Euros/day/person, and they also tried to charge 6 Euros for a towel. It was disappointing and really annoying. The pool belongs to the ‘Beauty Farm’ / spa, where the staff were horrible and rude. Our suite was a good size for a small family, but the pull-out couch bed was awful. The A/C was weak, the mini fridge didn't work, and there was often a sewerage smell from the bathroom. I can't recommend this hotel.

The reception team were very helpful, and dinner turned out surprisingly good. Breakfast was poor, though, and the hotel badly needs renovation. The pool area seems to be used as a club space by locals, and hotel guests don't seem to get much priority there. It wasn't worth the cost.
