ABC Appartamenti

The apartment had a cosy mountain look and was nicely furnished, in a beautiful, fairly new property. We stayed at the ABC Group apartments in Sauze d'Oulx from August 10th to 14th. On arrival, the staff were friendly and explained clearly where to find the apartment. They even gave us a QR code to help set up the GPS. We’d mentioned our dog and asked for a balcony so we could put a crate there. The balcony had a lovely view, but it was shared with the next room and the partition, about three feet high, didn’t offer much privacy. The neighbour didn’t like dogs and complained to management, who told us to keep ours inside on the day before we left. Cleaning seemed rather hit and miss, and basic items like soap and shampoo were missing. There were no simple breakfast supplies either, such as biscuits, tea, coffee, or sugar, even though the website and some reviews led us to expect them. There was a Nespresso machine, but not even two pods were included. Structurally, the residence is excellent, but the service doesn’t quite match the website’s promise: "The comfort of a hotel, but with the freedom of your own home!"

We spent four days here skiing with friends, and everything was easy, with an office right in the town centre. The management team were really friendly and helpful, and even arranged for us to collect the keys at one of their hotels after closing time. Smart and quick. The place seemed quite clean and was very practical, with everything we needed inside. It’s definitely not for anyone looking for luxury, but we had no complaints. Recommended, and the five stars are deserved.

Right in the heart of Sauze, this lovely all-wood apartment has every comfort. A one-of-a-kind stay, highly recommended.

The one good thing was the location, right beside the bobsleigh and ski slopes. Otherwise, the stay was disappointing. What we got didn’t resemble the Booking.com listing: we’d booked three bedrooms and a separate living room, but there were only two bedrooms and a bed squeezed into the living area against the table, with no space to move around. Lots of basics were missing too, including shampoo, shower gel, a hair dryer, cleaning products, and a sofa. One roommate spent the whole night with wet hair because she expected there to be a dryer. The mattresses were so thin that everyone ended up with back pain. On our first evening, we had to call a technician twice about the gas. First the cylinder was in poor condition, then it turned out to be empty. We didn’t get to eat until 10:30 PM.
