Chalet del Sole

There are several places to relax at the chalet, with separate dining and bar areas, a quiet lounge and a sunny terrace. It was lovely to ski right out of the door, or walk down to town, and the team took care of everything so well. We had a lot of fun getting to know them, and both the atmosphere and food were excellent all week. Chalet del Sole is a beautiful spot on the slope and a special base for a perfect week of skiing. The hardest part was leaving. 10/10, and I’ll look to stay again.

Skiing straight from the hotel up to a lift in the morning and back to the hotel in the evening was so convenient. The food was fantastic before and after a long day out, and the place was clean, well equipped and had a great atmosphere. We arrived late after a long journey, but the wonderful staff had saved us some dinner and gave us such a warm welcome. They went above and beyond throughout our week at Hotel Chalet del Sole. Georgina was especially kind and hardworking. If we come to this resort again, we’d certainly return. Thanks to everybody at Hotel Chalet del Sole!

We were staying a few doors up, so we only tried the bar and it became our local. A lovely place just off the slope, with fantastic, friendly staff. Drinks came with snacks like ham and cheese, and there were two nice, chilled dogs. A great spot at the end of the day. Thanks for being such great hosts.

The owner was pleasant and accommodating, though service from the rest of the staff varied. We stayed at Chalet del Sole for a week with half-board included. The hotel is well placed for skiing, with ski-in, ski-out access, but it’s a fairly long walk into town, around 15-20 minutes on a steep road without a sidewalk. It’s also rather difficult for beginners. Rooms were small and didn’t have good storage. Each had a ground-level patio facing the road. Getting to the restaurant one level up meant walking outside, which was odd. Breakfast was a modest buffet, and during the busy morning period food often ran out because staff couldn’t keep up. Dinner was two courses with three choices each night. We’d been looking forward to Italian cuisine, so the poor quality was a big disappointment. Many dishes lacked taste, finesse and presentation, though most of the primi pasta dishes were okay. The worst meal of the week was the “beer chicken,” a white, slimy casserole with dry chicken pieces cooked among canned peas and carrots. Five of the six people in our party couldn’t finish it because it had so little taste.
