Hotel La Torre

We had an amazing half-board stay and will probably visit again. There was plenty of food despite several allergies, and the staff were hardworking and kind. Great hotel, recently renovated. Many thanks!

Communication from the staff by WhatsApp and email was excellent, from booking through arrival. We were a group of eight, and the hotel gladly helped with our requests, including eight single beds and arranging an airport transfer. They booked the return transfer, confirmed the beds, and shared expected prices for ski hire and passes. We arrived before check-in time, but they pre-checked us in with our passports and stored our luggage. There's a desk for booking ski passes and getting the hotel discount. The staff member there also explained where the nearest lifts were and when the ski hire shop was open. Hours can depend on the day. It stays open all day Saturday, but on the Wednesday we arrived it closed from 12:30 to 16:30. We got there just before 12, so had time to pick up our skis and boots. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and spoke excellent English. They greeted us wherever we were and really looked after us. Our room was spacious, with two single beds, plenty of storage and a large bathroom with a shower and toilet. The window opened, which was handy when we wanted to cool the room down. The hotel's ski storage has a locker assigned to each room, and the area is locked every evening, so it felt very secure. The nearest lift is a ten-minute walk uphill. You can wait for the shuttle, but it's very small and you may wait a long time, so we walked each day. Breakfast was fantastic, with everything you could want before skiing, lots of hot and cold options, plenty of tables and a beautiful mountain view through the big windows. The bar is lovely, with pianists and singers on several evenings, though drinks cost a bit more than in town, where they're about half the price. At checkout, expect to pay the Italian tax of 12 euro per person. There are just two very small lifts, with a maximum of four people each, for the whole hotel. At busy times, walking to your room is quicker. If your room is near the lifts, you can hear them from very early, so bring earplugs. A fantastic stay. I can't fault it and would definitely return. I'd highly recommend it to anyone staying in Sauze D’Olux. 10/10.

The food was decent, the location pleasant, and the rooms have been renovated. But there isn't a kettle in the room, so you can't make tea or another hot drink. The hotel attracts a lot of young groups, and they're extremely loud, shouting, running around and playing music. After skiing, from 4 p.m. until late at night, you can hear everything in the corridors. The teenage groups are so noisy in the restaurant that you just want to leave. This happens every day. If you're not 16, it's better to avoid the place.

We stayed this past week and I think we were among the first guests in the newly renovated rooms. They had modern finishes, felt cozy and were very clean. We were on the third floor and had a perfect view. The staff were very kind, and breakfast was included, with a good mix of sweet and salty options. I also had a gel manicure and a relaxation massage at the spa, which has been completely renovated too. The elevators were a little slow, unfortunately. The stay was great overall, and although the common areas still need updating, that didn't take away from the experience.
