The hotel's old-fashioned Italian look seems to date from the 1990s, but it was okay if you don't mind that style. The staff were very nice, and the location is great. The spa wasn't the best: the usual price is 30 euros and it was 20 euros this time, which I still think is too much.

The location near the Clotes ski lift is great, and the hotel was good value with everything we needed for a week's skiing. Staff were friendly, our room was cleaned well each day, and the shower was excellent with consistently hot water. The beds weren't especially comfortable. Breakfast was fine, though it could use more variety from day to day. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel, and liked being close to so many good local restaurants. It was handy to have ski and boot storage downstairs, and free parking outside. The bar area is huge, but 3 euros per pool game felt a bit much. We skipped the spa because it cost 20 euros per person each time. It would've been nice to have a kettle in the room or free tea and coffee downstairs during the day.

The staff are magnificent, very friendly, and will try to sort out any problems. The food is good, and there's plenty to choose from to fill you up for a day on the mountain, even though we would have liked the option of a cooked breakfast. The hotel is ideally placed at the bottom of the slope near the first lift. Its decor has a 70s or 80s feel and I suspect it hasn't been redone since then. I love that about it, especially the big stag's head on the wall. It has a sort of Basil Fawlty feel. Thoroughly recommend it.

Dinner was generally good, served as several courses and filling. Breakfast was continental, not great but not terrible. There was also a free room downstairs for storing skis and boots, which was useful. The hotel is in a really good location, but it feels fairly dated: most of the building and rooms seem worn, though the place was generally clean. The rooms got hot, so we had to leave a window open at night. With bars so close, the noise made it hard to sleep. The bed was very hard, though that may come down to personal preference. Wi-Fi was awful, slow and constantly dropping out. If location is your priority, this place is hard to beat. If comfort and amenities matter more, I'd consider somewhere else.
