Masseria La Camardia

The owners were very kind, and the room cleaning service was good. The location is beautiful, out in the quiet countryside, but the seaside is only a 10-minute drive away. There are two pools, one small and one larger one with a trampoline, and both were kept very clean.

The staff made our stay feel easy, from check-in right through to the end. Everything was clean, and everyone was friendly. It’s a lovely, peaceful place, handy for the beaches of Salento Taranto and for services in nearby Sava and Manduria. Definitely recommend it.

You’ll need a car here, but the next village with restaurants and supermarkets is only about a 10-minute drive away. We loved the quiet: crickets and wind were about all we could hear, and dinner on the Casette’s roof terrace at sunset was a treat. The Casette was well equipped, too. The grounds are beautifully kept among olive and pine trees, with two pools, a tennis court, a soccer field, and a washing machine you can use for free if you bring detergent. You do have to wear a swimming cap in the pool, which felt a little unusual, but it didn’t spoil our stay. The larger pool is up to 3 meters deep. Check-in was warm and personal. We were told about the masseria and offered a guided tour, which we happily accepted and really enjoyed. A fantastic, peaceful countryside break, just what we were looking for.

The countryside here is full of centuries-old olive trees and vineyards, and the whole place is lovely, green, and full of flowers. It suited us perfectly for a quiet stay. We spent ten days in June in one of the cottages, which was well equipped inside and out, with loungers and the option to barbecue. There are two pools, one for children and one Olympic-sized pool with a diving board. Mr. Dino looks after this area and was attentive whenever anything came up. The property also has a few dogs, including Pupo, who follows Mr. Dino around during the day. We’re grateful to Mr. Francesco for welcoming us and showing us his masseria, and for sharing memories that helped us understand the work involved in looking after a historic place passed down through generations. We also met Mrs. Elisabetta, who was helpful, and thank her along with the staff who care for the masseria.
