Verdello Home Savoca

We arrived at 10 PM after a longer than expected drive, three hours after check-in had ended, and the owner still greeted us warmly with a handshake at the car park. Verdello was spotless throughout, from the property and patio to the rooms, bathrooms, and stairs. My almost four-year-old daughter stepped into the bathroom and called me over to admire the beautiful shower. We’d stayed in a 4+ star hotel in Napoli, taken a high-end seven-day cruise, and stayed at another 4+ star hotel in Palermo during this holiday, but VERDELLO HOME SAVOCA was by far the best. I highly recommend it, and hope we’re lucky enough to return to SICILY.

The breakfast was decent, with fruit, cereal, cold cuts, and boiled eggs, and the serving staff were kind and helpful. The rooms have very basic amenities. The extra pillows didn’t have pillowcases, and the little wall-mounted TV sits much too far from the beds.

Tamara was a delight and helped with everything, from reception to breakfast preparation and serving. We stayed two nights, June 2nd to 4th, at this very modern hotel. The owner kindly picked us up at Aloha Mare, a must for dinner, though make a reservation. We were lucky that someone cancelled just as we arrived. The owner also suggested pipi spezzi, a wonderful restaurant in savoca near bar vitelli and the spot for Michael Corleone’s wedding walk in The Godfather. Absolutely wonderful, with amazing views!

A peaceful, affordable place, especially if you have a car. The staff are lovely and gave us great ideas for seeing the local area.
