The room was clean, and the owners were friendly once they arrived. They replied when we messaged with questions, and the balcony would be lovely in summer. For one night it was fine, though I wouldn't strongly recommend it. With a bit more effort from the owners, it could be really nice. There are useful things in the shared area: sofas, a washing machine but no detergent, clothes airers, a decent coffee machine, microwave, tables, and a large balcony running along two sides of the flat. It's close to the train station and farther from the beach, though still walkable. The kitchen area is visible but frustratingly cordoned off. Breakfast is just a few packaged croissants. Cleanliness was an issue outside our room. The common area smelled like the rubbish hadn't been taken out in a while, there were crumbs on the floor, and the kettle couldn't be used because someone seemed to have tried cooking in it. There were no signs to show where the place was or whether we'd arrived at the right spot. They knew when we were coming, but nobody was there. I called, as another review had suggested, and they showed up about 10 minutes later, having been in the countryside. We also weren't given the WiFi password, and it wasn't written anywhere.

The rooms were spotless and spacious, and the balcony gets sunshine for almost the whole day. The host was really kind and even picked up lactose-free milk for my friend. It was a great place to spend a few days in Scalea.

We were only there for one night, and that was enough. The room hadn't been cleaned well, the towels were dirty, and breakfast was very poor. The water bottles were the one positive, but the croissants were expired, the coffee capsules had already been used, and there was no milk. The photos bore no resemblance to what we found. They also sent us to their restaurant, "Sfizzietto," offering a €10 menu that they didn't honor at all. The only other good thing was the bakery downstairs, which they may have managed, where we bought excellent sandwiches. I think I'm being generous with two stars.

One star is the lowest I can give, even though I'd give less. What was advertised and offered bore no resemblance to what we found, and the place was disgusting. The room was dirty, the shower and sink looked close to falling apart, and there was no bidet. The so-called buffet was nothing like a buffet: cheap packaged croissants, toast, two jams, and two fruit juices from unknown brands. I could list more, but I don't want to waste any more time on this place. My advice is simple: "run away, fools."
