Set in the hills above Scandicci, this rustic place is about 15 minutes from Florence. The owners have made the first floor of their house into a rental, and it’s a nice one. It has a garden, jacuzzi and summer kitchen, which we didn’t get to use but were glad to have available. The apartment has an old-fashioned feel, with high ceilings and large rooms in an old brick house. It stays cool even on the hottest days, and breakfast in the garden is lovely. I’d choose it whenever I had the chance.
