Hotel Roma

We came as a large family with four children, and the staff made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. They were extraordinary, always smiling, helpful, and attentive to every detail. The rooms were spacious, beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and comfortable, a lovely place to relax after exploring Scanno. It felt like a journey back in time. The meals were another highlight: flavorful, carefully prepared dishes rooted in local tradition. The hotel is well placed for visiting Lake Scanno, famous for its heart shape. This hotel brings together warmth, professionalism, and great quality. We’ll definitely return, and I highly recommend it for an unforgettable stay.

Mrs. Carlotta really looked after me. I’m gluten and lactose intolerant, and she made sure I was happy and even cooked lasagna for me. I ate wonderfully and was so satisfied. The cleanliness and hospitality were excellent too.

We were truly hosted by Mrs. Carlotta at this elegant, understated hotel, just steps from Scanno’s main square. She knew we had our "little dog" with us and thoughtfully gave us a larger room. The furnishings were carefully chosen, everything was very clean, and the attention to guests went beyond what we expected. We also had New Year’s Eve dinner at the hotel restaurant, "Le tre Sorelle." Chef Michele Ruocco prepared an excellent meal, bringing simple flavors together with the skill of someone with years of experience. We had a wonderful time at Hotel Roma and will definitely come back.

The kind woman who welcomed us was the one bright spot. I booked because this was the only hotel in Scanno that had a Smartbox deal, but the first room was one of the saddest I’ve ever seen. The single beds were pushed together, leaving a gap in the middle, and the furniture was damaged and depressing, not charmingly old. The bidet was the worst part, so unhygienic. We asked to change rooms and paid extra, but the two single mattresses were still joined together, so one of us slept in the gap. The duvet had visible stains. Breakfast looked like it had been sitting out for days: the juice was in a mess, the croissants were hard, and the single-serve chocolate from some off-brand was inedible. Everything felt worn out. For me, it was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in.
