Hotel Locanda Del Castello

The friendly hostess served a delicious, generous breakfast, and parking was easy, with convenient access to the highway in and out of town. Locanda is in a modernized historic building at the top of this really interesting town. You do have to walk down the steps and climb back up to visit, but the large, comfortable rooms made it well worth it. It was a lovely part of our visit to Sciacca.

The rest was okay, but the owner says parking is available, and that isn't true. There’s only public parking.

Sciacca is a beautiful city, with a lovely beach, great food, and plenty of art and modern architecture. Mount Kronos, also known as Mount San Calogero, is well worth seeing for its centuries-old caves, and the city walls shouldn’t be overlooked either. At the hotel, our room was spacious, bright, and air-conditioned, though the shower was awkward to get into because its door conflicted with the bathroom door. The location is quiet, the housekeeping excellent, breakfast plentiful and healthy, and the staff friendly. The hotel is new and welcoming, but parking is a problem. They should reserve spaces for guests.

The property was spotless, and the whole staff deserve praise for their professionalism. Breakfast was fabulous, especially the exceptional cakes the staff make. It’s great value in a stunning area with lots of history.
