We stayed at Le Baronie with friends from August 6 to 11, 2023. The rooms were clean, roomy, neat, and welcoming, though I’d suggest Mr. Aurelio deal with the musty smell. The place sits among tomato greenhouses, and outside there’s a table, chairs, and a drying rack. Fresh water was put in the fridge every day. Mr. Aurelio was very friendly. We had dinner with him on our first night, and he kept us entertained with his stories. We had a mixed meat starter with cured meats, cheese, and vegetables, followed by ricotta ravioli and roasted sausage, then a delicious cinnamon cannoli. It was €18, drinks included. Another evening we asked for fish: hot and cold appetizers, spaghetti with fish sauce, grilled sea bream and red mullet, fried fish, and another excellent cannoli. That was €35 with drinks. Breakfast was good, but there was nothing sweet or savory to choose from. Cleanliness was good. I’d recommend a stay here and would come back.

The dinner was a real surprise. I’ve never had pasta with anchovies that good, and the sea bass was flavorful, with plenty of fresh vegetables. This family-run agriturismo is in a quiet spot away from the crowds. The owner and his wife are interesting, friendly people, and the room was well cared for. You can have a savory breakfast too. I’ll definitely return. Highly recommended!

I ate out every night on an 850 km trip around Sicily, and this is the place where I ate best. Mr. Aurelio clearly puts a lot of love into his cooking. You can see it in his eyes when he watches you enjoy the food, and in how pleased he is when a customer leaves satisfied. Add his care with every detail, real skill, and fresh ingredients cooked to order. Congratulations!

The welcome from Aurelio made a big difference. He treats guests like they’re at home and does his best to meet everyone’s needs. We also really enjoyed breakfast, especially the warm croissants and typical local pastries. We spent three days here and were very happy with our stay. It’s an excellent base for visiting the beautiful places in the Val di Noto, and our room was spacious, clean, and pleasant. Highly recommended!

This place has apparently been closed for a while, but it still shows as active on several booking platforms. We booked online and got confirmation through the booking app, then had a very hard time reaching it. Google Maps doesn’t show the restaurant’s location well, and the routes it gives lead along closed, bumpy roads. A local resident kindly drove us there. When we arrived, nobody was there to greet us, and the state of the building made it clear it had been closed for some time. Strongly not recommended.
