Hotel Olimpia

My car broke down in the middle of the highway, leaving me with hefty repair costs, a lot of stress, and suddenly very little money. I had to cancel my stay after that bad day and the unexpected problems it caused. I asked if they could waive the fees, but got no reply to my 12:08 message. I tried again at 16:13 and heard back at 18:12, two hours later. They said they would try to resell the room until 19:00 and refund me if they managed to do so. That only left 48 minutes, if that was really the window. A few minutes later my phone notified me that the payment had been taken from my bank account. Why not keep trying to resell it until midnight? If someone else booked it, would they have earned twice or more from the room at my expense? They didn’t offer any way to make up even part of the stay. Since I wouldn’t have used breakfast, the pool, or cleaning, water, and electricity for my stay, we could have agreed on a partial refund. We could also have changed the dates, though I would have preferred some money back given the sudden financial strain. Neither option was offered.

The hotel is very old and a long way from the city. I wouldn’t recommend booking here. Breakfast was awful, with sweet cake and a grey egg. Reception can manage some English. If you want somewhere modern, new, and clean with an English-speaking host, check out B&B Relais Marlene city centre.

The people were really nice, and they cleaned the rooms every day. There’s a restaurant and pizzeria on site. I loved the pizza. Great place to stay.

The staff were very caring, and the place was nice and not too expensive. My only small complaint was the shortage of parking spaces, though there’s more parking outside the gate.
