Fasthotel Linate

The hotel restaurant was okay, though if you have time I'd look for somewhere else to eat. The staff were friendly and took time to explain everything after my flight was cancelled and the airline booked me here. The room was functional, and the bed was comfortable, but the sheets had stains. The sink looked past its best, neither really dirty nor clean. The toilet and bidet were so close together you could practically sit on both at once. The strangest detail was the TV mounted below the ceiling, about 2.3 meters high. No one is likely to steal that.

For a work trip, the rooms were functional and fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep. The best part was the staff, who were extremely kind and actively tried to find useful solutions. When rooms were available, they would even change reservations at the last minute.

I had to cancel my booking because of an emergency, and explained the whole situation. Their reply was very blunt, with no offer of help. It felt like they had deliberately decided not to assist me, and I'm quite disappointed in the service. They should at least take a customer's situation and circumstances into account, but that didn't happen here.

After I left the hotel, I emailed about the missing turban and was told they weren't responsible for guests' belongings. I had asked for €40 in compensation as a fair solution, but got no answer to that request. When I asked to speak with the manager, I heard nothing back. The way the hotel implied this was my fault, despite housekeeping taking the item, was especially unacceptable. I found the communication poor and the attitude toward guests disrespectful, with no accountability. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting professionalism or basic customer service. During my stay at the Fastlane Hotel in Milan, housekeeping took my white turban from a hook where it was hanging with other white towels. Hotels normally only take towels left on the floor, but here every towel was replaced each day, which already seemed careless. I reported it at reception twice. The first time they asked me to return the next day, and the second time they dismissed me again without offering a solution.
