The restaurant was a real highlight: excellent food, carefully prepared, and generous portions. The one small letdown was breakfast, which was all sweet. A savory option would make it perfect. We had a wonderful weekend at Hotel Ristorante Marcellino. The owner was very kind and helpful, we slept well, and the prices are very competitive for the area. Outside, the building looks recently renovated, while inside it keeps a pleasant 1980s feel. That didn’t affect comfort, and all the amenities were there and worked well. We’d definitely return for a quiet stay in Selvino. It’s a great balance of price and quality.

The casoncelli were especially authentic, and the venison with polenta was tender and full of flavor. We found the stewed snails unusual, though I thought they were a little bland. The price was average. It’s a welcoming, historic restaurant at the entrance to Selvino, serving traditional Bergamo dishes made with fresh, quality ingredients.
