It’s an old building, so it’s understandable that fixing any sewage issue would mean a full rework. There was an occasional sewage smell in the room, though it passed quickly and wasn't a problem once the door was closed. I couldn't tell whether it came from the bathroom or outside after the rain. That was the only reason I took off a star. You can also hear the occasional train, but the hotel is beside the railway like the others along this beach strip. For a 2-star hotel, expect the basics. The family running it are friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean, with bleached surfaces, and there was no sign of mold or dirt on the curtains by the windows or in the shower. I've seen worse cleaning in many 4-star hotels. Breakfast had few choices, but the food was better than at many 3- and 4-star hotels I've stayed in.

A great stay, with kind, helpful staff, clean rooms, and a generous breakfast. Just a stone's throw from the seafront.

The beach was a highlight for us, with soft sand and a sea that really surprised us. We also hired bikes and could reach the historic center in about five minutes each evening, with its castle, restaurants, and pleasant little shopping streets. We came in the first week of August, and when our car battery died, the owner's husband immediately offered to sort it out. The staff were kind and friendly all through our stay. The hotel is only two stars, but the price was fair and our room was spotless, with towels, soap, TV, air conditioning, fans, and a nice balcony with a line for drying towels. Breakfast had a generous range of cakes. There's no elevator, though it's just two floors, and the nearby train station didn't bother us.
