Le Copertelle

I hadn't booked, but even though they were full with two groups, the friendly and attentive owner found me the last table. I was in Serra San Quirico for lunch at Le Copertelle, the only restaurant in the town's historic center. The traditional food is simply presented, with everything tasty and no extra frills. The service is just as straightforward, with a constant smile. They also have an interesting wine list. Thank you.

Homemade Italian food that was outstanding, great service, and an excellent location.

We stumbled on this cosy local restaurant while passing through and went in with our three kids. Finding a menu kids will eat from can be tough, even though pasta makes it easier. They had ricotta ravioli in tomato sauce and tagliatelle with ragu, similar to bolognese, and loved it. My husband and I shared ricotta with tomatoes and steak tartare with truffles. Everything was delicious, and there were plenty of truffle options. We had the good quality house wine from their long wine list. The only drink for children is water, which worked perfectly for ours. The setting is very inviting, too. We sat outside on the old castle wall, on a pretty little terrace overlooking the green hill. To get there, you pass through the restaurant's colorful staircase. The manager and staff were friendly. We loved the whole experience, and recommend it even if you're just passing through.

The gnocchi with truffles were spectacular, and all the food was amazing. We arrived late, but they still served us. Don't skip the tiramisu. Guess I'll have to come back!
