Il Quercione

The first-floor apartment was nice, though it wasn't the one we'd booked. It had one double bedroom and another with bunk beds, which didn't really work for four adults. More comfortable outdoor seating would've been nice, too. This place suits you if you really like being on your own. The views are lovely, there's a nice pool, and we could pick fruit and vegetables. We were welcomed with eggs and cake, but communication was hard since only Italian is spoken, and there was rarely anyone around. There were also three dogs kept in cages the whole time, which was unpleasant to see.

At night it's just moonlight and stars, with no artificial light around. During the day, there are rolling hills in every direction. It's a lovely spot. After a short dirt track, you reach a real agriturismo, with cowbells and Chianina cattle lowing nearby, and the occasional tractor engine in the background.

The pool and outdoor areas are cared for and inviting. The apartments are lovely, tucked into nature.

Quiet up in the hills, and a really relaxing place to spend time.
