Caravan Park Sexten

The pool was amazing, and we were impressed by all the resort has to offer. The campsite has everything you need, and the staff were genuinely friendly. Our biggest thanks go to the Mini Club animators, who were so kind and engaging that the kids wanted to spend all their time there. We were extremely happy with our stay and will definitely return!

This is only a review of the Spa. The relaxing visit got off to a rough start: there was no parking, and then we had to wait bunched up in a corridor to get in. The lockers had no keys, which wasn’t exactly a peaceful start to a wellness visit. Inside, the place looks stunning, truly beautiful. But the atmosphere was spoiled by dozens of screaming children, lukewarm water, and people taking each other’s flip-flops. The lifeguard at least helped me find another pair. The sauna area has a warm outdoor whirlpool, though getting to it is freezing and it’s usually full. Of the many saunas, only one was good, and the steam rooms were barely hot. Loud club music also made it hard to relax on the sofas. The cold plunge pool was good, but none of the nearby showers worked properly for warming up afterward. You have to hold the handle up yourself. I can’t give it zero stars because the staff on hand were really nice and deserve credit. If the Spa is meant to encourage people to find relaxation and wellness in daily life without paying 44 Euros for it, then this place should be highly regarded. Bravo!

There’s plenty here, including a shop, two restaurants and a hiking shop, and the mountain views are fantastic. We stayed for two nights after New Year’s Eve, so prices were a little higher than usual. We really enjoyed the wellness area, though it costs extra and needs to be booked ahead. One thing to watch: the final slot starts at 19:00, but they close 30 minutes early, so you lose half an hour of your booking.

We came back for a second stay and had a better time this year. The staff seemed more capable and friendly, a big improvement over last year. The place is very clean and spacious, and the scenery is lovely. The kids’ club has games, activities and a cinema, and our child loved having lunch with the other kids. The grocery shop also has a great selection of quality products. We liked the pool, thermal jacuzzis and especially the quiet room. The main restaurant, though, needs work: the menu sounds exciting, but the food and service were average at best. We’ll be back.
