The hotel and its location are beautiful, and we used to enjoy staying here. Since the new management took over, though, it no longer feels like a pleasant place. The new owner’s mismanagement of what used to be a very decent hotel would make an interesting business studies case. A particularly odd example is her private breakfast table, which guests can’t use even when it’s empty. Staff are subjected to micromanagement and strange rules. Other reviews on Booking and elsewhere have plenty of examples. Best to avoid until management changes.

Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly. Still, it was frustrating that guests could reserve the best tables without even showing up, so arriving early got you no advantage. The beach area is limited because the bridge collapsed. You can only use the sunbeds by the natural pool at the far end, not on the rock facing the sea. The pool area also costs extra and isn’t included in the hotel price.

The location is exceptional, and that’s fortunate because the owner’s aggressive manner and lack of politeness can spoil the experience. I hope no one has to deal with her. Before reserving, compare prices by checking the platforms, the website, and calling the hotel.

A lovely hotel in a great location, with friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was generous, and dinner was very tasty too. One odd thing: the owner has a reserved seat right by the door to the outdoor breakfast area, where she audibly reprimands staff, even in front of customers.

We still remember the slow afternoons spent with wine and appetizers in the garden. The place feels magical: our huge room looked out over the city and came with a large private outdoor space. Best of all was discovering the elevator through the rock, which takes you down to the swimming bay below.
