La Casa Dei Paggi

The villa is beautiful, one of the best places I've ever stayed. But being woken in the morning by someone knocking and telling us to get up, then saying we couldn't use the air condition or bathtub, felt like being scolded like a child. The hosts were rude and not welcoming at all. The lady didn't clean my room, and on the last day she said I had to leave by 10am because the cleaning lady was coming, even though checkout was at 12pm. She also asked us to pay 220 € in cash, when two people would have paid 260 € for 2 nights. Paying cash isn't acceptable, and it's also not allowed in Italy for renting a room. All of this turned a beautiful villa into somewhere I wouldn't return to.

The train station is only a few minutes away, and we could reach the sights easily by train without needing a car. The hostess was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, and our conversations with her made the place feel more like home than a hotel. The house has loads of charm if you can go with the vintage decor ;) Breakfast is only sweet, which takes a little getting used to, but it's made with care using produce from the garden :) One of my most wonderful vacation experiences. Highly recommended 😀

Giovanna's stories make her the soul of Sestri, and spending time with her alone makes the stay worthwhile. She was thoughtful, attentive, and friendly, and we had a wonderful time in her house. It's in a great spot, just a few meters from the beach and town center. Breakfast was hearty, served either in the garden or on the terrace with a beautiful view. The Donna Gloria room is lovely, with parquet floors throughout, a beautiful bathroom, and a priceless view. Mrs. Giovanna is the perfect host, a historic figure in Sestri, and her villa is a real gem in a strategic location. Breakfast is varied, with lots of family conversation, and always feels comfortable.
