Sangallo Park Hotel

Breakfast was satisfactory, and the breakfast staff were kind and helpful. But I deeply regret booking this hotel in late April. It was far from town, and we couldn't use the outdoor spaces we'd paid for and expected. We chose the hotel mainly to relax by the pool with vineyard views, and upgraded our room for views of the vineyards and pool. We would have 100% preferred somewhere closer to town if we'd known the staff would be so unreasonable about access to the outdoor areas. The hotel advertises a pool and lawn, but the evening front desk staff wouldn't let us use either. They even locked the gate to keep guests off the lawn and away from its view. Though it was sunny and 16C, two front desk workers said the pool was too cold for anyone to want to use. Many guests were admiring it and taking pictures from behind the gate. The pool appeared uncovered, running, and maintained, so it looked ready for swimming. They also denied access to the advertised gazebo, its views, and the outdoor space by the pool. We were left with just the four walls of our room.

The pool and garden were incredible, and the hotel had plenty of free parking. It's in Tuscany, close to Siena and the train station for day trips. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was fantastic, and the room was quiet with a very comfortable bed. Both the room and bathroom were bigger than in many Italian hotels, and the bathroom had a full-size tub, which is rare. This was a great hotel with everything I wanted for my two-night stay.

Just outside Siena, it's a good place to stay. The rooms were good, though there was no iron available. Customer service was great and professional, and the reception and food and beverage attendants were both lovely. One suggestion: if fruit is offered at breakfast, it should be ripe enough to eat. The kiwis and bananas weren't ripe.

The staff were fantastic and really came through when we needed help. The hotel is very comfortable in every way, clean, and quiet, with a lovely view and an outdoor pool. Breakfast was good, too. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood uphill from the city center. We preferred walking into town and back, though most people would probably drive a few minutes or take a short taxi ride. Everything was great!
