Breakfast was a highlight each day. It was freshly made to order, tasty, and served with real warmth. I often stayed chatting and laughing with the other guests, and Irene’s stories made those moments even better. The friendly, communal feeling made this one of my most memorable stays. The living room views were stunning, a lovely setting for a peaceful breakfast. Irene was an exceptional host, even picking me up from my taxi and offering help whenever I needed it. Her quiet, sweet toy poodle Bambi added to the charm. The bathrooms were spotless and cleaned daily. The A/C worked perfectly, though the setup was comfortable enough that I barely needed it. I’d give this more than five stars if I could. Don’t hesitate to book.

After a hectic stay in Florence, this was a peaceful place to come back to. The train into central Florence takes less than 20 minutes, and Signa puts you among the Tuscan hills in a medieval hilltop town. There’s a lovely local pizzeria and restaurant a short walk away, and a small museum about Signa’s straw hat industry, which exported hats around the world. I’d happily use this as a base for another trip to Florence and the surrounding area, and I’ll be back, Irene. The welcome from Irene was lovely, and there’s a view from every window. I especially loved looking at the church of San Martino in Lastra a Signa. Irene patiently helped me complete my family research, and I appreciated her kindness so much. As a woman traveling solo, I know accommodation can sometimes be less than perfect, but my room and bathroom were absolutely lovely. I’m delighted to recommend b& b l'orologio.

For an overnight stay, this is a great way to avoid paying too much for Florence while still getting high-quality service. The hostess was smart and friendly, and her cheerful dog was lovely. Everything was very clean, with quiet air conditioners and expensive plumbing. The bath and bed were the best I’ve come across in private hotels. There’s a view of the Duomo from the windows, and the English breakfast really is like the one in England. The streets are very narrow, so be ready to search for parking. If you’re walking, bring plenty of water for the climb to the top of the mountain. I highly recommend it.

The owner is super friendly, the room is lovely, and breakfast was wonderful. You can definitely trust this B&B. Don’t wait too long to book, though, since she only has a couple of rooms.
