La Quercia B&B

Top-notch.

The restaurant serves good traditional Calabrian food, including excellent artisanal cured meats, and the room and meal prices are both very good. Our room was spotless and roomy, with a high-tech shower. Breakfast came to the table, with a nice range of sweet and savory choices. The staff were polite, friendly, and attentive.

A car makes this a handy base for the Sila: Camigliatello Silano is about 20 minutes away and San Giovanni in Fiore about 10, with the forest all around. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the prices are excellent. The rooms are heated, spacious, and very clean, though you do have to use stairs to reach them. There's a restaurant and pizzeria on site. The food is good, portions run a little small, and the pizza has a very thin crust. I think it's the best place in the area for visiting the main Sila sights.

The host is friendly and the location is great. At breakfast, you choose from a bar-style selection, which works fine for a B&B. The rooms are clean, but the sound carries so much you can hear everything. If someone turns on the TV at 6 a.m., getting back to sleep is out of the question. The beds aren't very comfortable either. I'd take the TVs out of the rooms so guests can enjoy the nature instead.
