Orto degli Ulivi

The room was hot, and every mosquito net was broken. We also had to share a bathroom and shower that were in terrible shape. The owner was extremely rude: she left us waiting outside with our bags for an hour, then made us feel guilty for spoiling her evening. A terrible experience. I really wouldn't recommend it.

For a short visit, this is a handy base for Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia. I had a comfortable bed, a big shower, and my own bathroom, and there are two parking spots inside the property. Breakfast is eaten together at one table, with the owner making the coffee and cappuccinos. She was helpful, though twice I found her not very accommodating: when I came to pick up the bill, and while she was coughing as she made cappuccinos at breakfast. In my opinion, she perhaps should have worn a mask.

The B&B sits in a lovely natural setting, and the rooms are beautiful. The owner is always around with suggestions for places to eat and things to see nearby. Breakfast was the weak point for me, very homemade in a basic way: moka coffee, toast and jam, two packaged croissants, and juice. Some homemade or baked treats would have been much more appreciated.

A quiet spot surrounded by nature, with a very spacious room and parking inside the gate. The service was excellent, and all in all I liked the place. The shared bathroom, though, wasn't great for cleanliness, which is why I gave it three stars.
