La Casetta

We loved how peaceful it was at the edge of Tasonis, especially traveling with our three small dogs. The first-floor apartment was modern, in great shape, and very clean. There’s a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room with TV, and a terrace where we could eat breakfast or dinner outside. The area is within easy reach of wonderful beaches and mountains, and not far from Caligari, the capital. Francesco and Laura were warm, very friendly hosts. Wishing them all the best. The stay felt intrusive and uncomfortable, and we even “escaped” to a more private place for a weekend. The owners were often around, gardening from early afternoon into the evening, and the seating area sits right by their balcony door. Two cameras in the garden also surprised and unsettled us. We struggled to find peace, and in the end weren’t even greeted. It seemed we were more of a nuisance than anything else. The apartment was quite isolated and about 50 square meters, despite being described on Booking.com as a detached house. There were no wardrobes, so we lived out of our suitcases for two weeks. The inside door lock had been taped shut, meaning we couldn’t lock up at night. The mosquito nets meant we couldn’t close the room blinds, and in the bathroom the garden had a clear view in, so we used towels for privacy. It got extremely hot beneath the roof, which had no covering, and the sloping ceilings were easy to bump your head on. We had no access to the whirlpool or outdoor grill. For the rent, which we found extremely expensive in comparison, we can’t recommend the accommodation and definitely won’t vacation there again.

The owner’s kindness made our family evening even better. We felt very welcome, and the food was delicious. A wonderful time, and I’d recommend it to everyone.
