The cottages are roomy, with a family room and an upstairs space, and the terrace is a nice place to unwind. The bathroom is dated, though it works and has a hot shower. The location is handy for driving around to nearby sights and activities. Hospitality was a real letdown. We got no welcome or explanation, and our Booking messages went unanswered. There’s also construction from the fire last year, which we knew about, but the route to the pool runs right through the worksite. That felt unsafe, especially with children, and a safer path is needed. Breakfast was barely breakfast: one croissant a day, stale bread, and a sad slice of salami that was rarely replenished. When the juice ran out, that was it, and the same went for coffee. The on-site restaurant is available for dinner, but the meal was just okay and not memorable.

It was very quiet there, about 20 minutes from Siracusa. Our room wasn't especially clean. We also ate at the restaurant, where many menu items weren't available. What we did get was good, but it cost too much for what it was.

The food was abundant and delicious, made with ingredients picked from the backyard, and the hosts were wonderful. I was at Limoneto for five days for a retreat, which the retreat leader had chosen for its lush grounds and lovely hosts. I especially enjoyed waking to birdsong and having Brown, the host's dog, come by during meals. Thank you, Francesco, Geatano and Marcello, for being so welcoming and for the traditional singing.

We used this as a base for day trips to Sicilian highlights, then came back to unwind by the pool and have dinner at the restaurant. The place, pool, and restaurant were nice, and both the hosts and staff were very friendly.
