The B&B made a lovely start to our Sicily trip. We felt comfortable, and it’s ideally placed for exploring Siracusa. Vito shared lots of useful information and tips about Siracusa and Sicily, as well as making us a delicious breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and homemade apple cake. Our room had everything we needed for a holiday, and we slept really well on a brand-new mattress. All the other mattresses in the B&B were new too. There’s a nice view from the breakfast room, so arrive early if you want to catch the best table. In the evening, get some wine and Sicilian treats and enjoy the night sky :))

We had a great time at Cumpari Turiddu. The lovely patio was a perfect place to sit for the delicious breakfast, and the Greek Theater is close enough to walk to. We caught a live performance there during our stay. Vittorio was friendly and accommodating, offered plenty of helpful local tips, and even drove us to the train station. He was patient while I practiced my Italian too. I’d definitely come back to Siracusa. Grazie mille!

My stay was a terrible experience because of Mr. Vittorio and the way it was managed. He invaded our privacy and was rude, using unkind words and swear words while insisting that we were “in his house” and that he could dictate the rules as he pleased. There were structural problems and almost no routine maintenance. The shower setup wasn’t up to standard, and the door kept coming off its guide rail. The bathroom linens smelled bad, and changing them didn’t fix it. The owner seemed focused only on collecting the agreed payment, despite some services we’d agreed on not being handled as promised. The place says it is pet friendly, but it isn’t. The lack of professionalism and the situation overall made the stay deeply frustrating.

Vittorio and Marianna were very kind and helpful, and the property was clean and well sanitized. A great choice for a quiet family holiday. Highly recommended.
