Palazzo Giunta - Porta Marina Ortigia

Looking out over the water near the bridge to Ortigia, this beautiful B&B was in a handy spot, with easy access to everything and taxi drop-off points. The staff were so kind and went above and beyond to make our stay lovely. Our room was great, and the shower was large. Breakfast, included if you book direct, was the best part, along with the delicious espresso and cappuccino. We’d love to come back!

It’s a small old building, but comfortable and ideal if stairs aren’t an issue. The place has a lovely rustic feel, great views, and a good location in Ortigia. Breakfast came on a three-tier platter and was great. Parking was easy, and staff answered our questions by email or when we arrived. Many thanks to Laura and Noami for their help, service, and information. We’d definitely stay again. If you don’t use a wheelchair or have trouble with stairs, stay here!

We loved having breakfast just outside our suite and spending sunset and late evenings on the terrace with wine and snacks. The view from the Romantic Suite with private terrace balcony at B&B Porta Marina was spectacular. We’d checked several properties before traveling and booked this one well in advance, and the accommodation was phenomenal. The top-floor stairs were the only downside, though our smart watches gave us plenty of credit for the steps. Everyone on staff was sweet, friendly, and professional. Noame at the front desk gave us very helpful touring and dining recommendations. We only spoke with Simona over the intercom when we arrived about fifteen minutes early. She said someone would be there shortly and pointed us toward parking. We later found out Simona was the owner and had grown up in the B&B when it was her family home. Whether or not that story is true, we would have enjoyed meeting and chatting with her. There’s a designated public lot in front of the B&B. We were lucky to find a space and stay parked using the validation they provided, though we suspect spaces may usually be scarce. We decided to leave the car in that great spot and walk or use Siracusa Open Tour/Hop-on Hop-off. We’d love to return to Sicily, Ortigia, and B&B Porta Marina, and would book “our” Romantic Suite well ahead of time!

I booked through Airbnb, and when all flights to Catania were cancelled, the staff helped a lot with options for getting from Rome to Siracusa, including links and images. Their customer service was 10/10. They were kind and welcoming, too. The B&B is beautiful, with a big wooden door and a welcoming smell. There’s no lift, but getting to my top-floor suite was very manageable. The private terrace had stunning marina views, the AC worked wonders, and the modern bathroom had a touch of antiquity. The location was perfect. I highly recommend staying here!
