Byssus Suites

The staff were lovely and always had restaurant and beach club recommendations for us. We stayed five nights at Byssus Suites, and it felt like home. Our room was amazing, with a private living room, a big bathroom, and even a sauna. Breakfast was delicious, and I got a really tasty gluten-free cornetto every day. If we're back in Siracusa, we'll stay here again.

We've been back year after year, sometimes as a couple and sometimes with our daughters, and Valentina and Emanuele always greet us with warmth and courtesy. You can see how much care and passion they put into their work. This family-run boutique hotel has spacious, elegant suites just a short walk from the busy downtown area. Having Onda Blu nearby is a real plus too, with its fresh seafood cooked simply and deliciously. It's always a treat to come back.

Michele and Valentina were so welcoming, and when the Etna eruption meant we had to cancel one night, they upgraded our room at no charge. They also pointed us to good beaches and restaurants, and the hotel lends out bikes, which made it easy to get around and visit ortigia. Breakfast was very nice, with familiar options like croissants, bread, and eggs made to order, plus Sicilian treats such as pistachio cream and really good crostatas. We had a very pleasant stay at Byssus Suites and strongly recommend it.

The hotel is about a year old, and it's clear they've thought through the details. The rooms are spacious and modern, with great design, a comfortable bed and pillows, and excellent air conditioning. There's gated parking, the staff are amazing, and Emanuel was a very kind, helpful host. We stayed longer because he was so nice and the hotel was so comfortable. Breakfast is complimentary and comes from the nice restaurant next door. The area wasn't our favorite, but with a car it's a short drive to Ortigia, where there's plenty of parking, including a garage and a large lot. For a stop in Siracusa, it's a great, well-priced place to stay. Highly recommend.
