We rented the house for three months. The landlady treated us badly at times, then acted the next day as if nothing had happened. She came into the house without telling us first. When it came to the deposit, she first said we had taken some towels, then said we had left something dirty, and she didn't return it. She also made a rental contract for a lower amount, saying she couldn't pay so much in taxes. This account was repeated in the review.
The house is lovely and right in the heart of Ortigia, but I felt the owner was dishonest. She quoted one price and then charged another, came into the house without warning, and took money that wasn't hers.
Stefano was really friendly and helpful. Ask him about the nearby Crai sandwich recommendation. 😋😝 The house feels cosy, with well-chosen furnishings and excellent cleanliness. Its setting is homey and convenient for getting to the attractions.
I'm giving one star only because I can't give zero. Return the money to its owners, you crook. Scammer!!!
