The apartment looks onto an inner courtyard and was very quiet. The bed was comfortable, it was clean, and the air conditioning and washing machine were useful. Internet worked when I used it, though I didn’t use it consistently. I was welcomed in person and given a receipt, and the owner’s husband was kind and friendly. Walking barefoot did show that the floors could be better. The furnishings felt a bit random and didn’t really go together from room to room. For instance, the washing machine is built into a kitchen cupboard, but the countertop blocks access to the detergent drawer. All four pillows were too thick; having a couple of thinner ones would have helped. Water pressure varied a lot, sometimes weak and then suddenly strong, with the temperature changing along with it. Payment was cash only. On the first day I had to come back at the agreed time to pay, despite offering an instant bank transfer, and was asked to ignore the owner’s texts. The owner also sent a very curt message exactly one minute after checkout asking whether I was ready to leave. After my public review, which had an excellent rating that I’ve since lowered, the owner replied privately with a snide comment telling me to read the payment terms more carefully. Cash payment is still a drawback worth mentioning, especially since a POS terminal is legally required.
