The ground-floor room had a fairly strong damp smell. Maybe that’s part of staying in an old stone city so close to the sea, but it was the one real downside. My partner and I had a wonderful three-night stay in November. The hotel is right in the middle of Ortigia, on a quiet enough street to get away from the tourist and restaurant bustle. The receptionist was friendly, professional, and very helpful. They were quick to reply on WhatsApp, helped us find parking and arrange permission to drive onto the island, and at check-in marked routes to major sights on a map and told us their opening hours, along with restaurant suggestions. We spent two nights in a room with a terrace, then extended for a third night in the ground-floor room for handicapped guests. Both rooms were simple, beautifully white, and clean. Hard or memory foam pillows were available when we asked. The showers were good, and both rooms had lots of TV channels, a good coffee maker, complimentary water in the fridge, and pepper-scented shampoo. Getting in and out was easy, and check-in and checkout were smooth.

The rooms at Dimore Delle Zagare were spacious, modern, and fantastic. The staff were friendly and always ready to help, whether with food and activity suggestions or arranging taxis and transfers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

The room had everything I needed, including great air conditioning for the hot days, and a cute balcony for sitting outside. The ladies, Paola, Emanuela, and Miriam, were really sweet and attentive about my arrival, gave me excellent food recommendations, and kept me updated about housekeeping. It was easy to get around from this spot, very close to the main streets. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ortigia or Siracusa, and I’ll stay here again if I’m back.

Emmanuela went above and beyond, arranging dinner reservations, boat excursions, and táxis, and even surprised us with champagne for our wedding anniversary. The service was better than at any five-star hotel I’ve stayed in. We had the best time at this beautiful hotel, which is also in a great central location. I couldn’t recommend it more.

We booked at very short notice for three nights, and the staff were really helpful in making it work. The room was clean and had what our family of four needed. The host also shared several tips for sights and places to eat. We can definitely recommend staying here.
