Guest house Damarete

I had a wonderful time in beautiful Ortigia, staying behind Cala Rossa. The room was clean, and the photos were true to the property. The owner and staff handled unexpected problems, including the boiler and clothesline, incredibly efficiently. Being in the center adds to the charm, and the Jewish baths across the street are beautiful. The archaeological site, Arethusa Fountain and everything else are worth seeing!

The ground-floor room was the one drawback, as it was very noisy. Otherwise, the room was clean and nicely furnished. We stayed for a week, and Raffaele was a wonderful host, always around and ready to help. He even changed the linens halfway through.

The owner was incredibly kind, and our room was clean and comfortable throughout our week at the Damarete residence. My boyfriend and I loved being just steps from the sea in Ortigia. I’d definitely recommend it!

Ortigia is lively, welcoming and interesting, and well worth visiting. Mr. Raffaele and his girlfriend were kind and helpful, and the Damarete residence is well managed. Our apartment was spacious and clean. Even our little dog had a great time!
