Hora Guest House by Ortigia Apartments

We enjoyed our stay so much that we asked to extend it, and thankfully they could fit us in this time. Nino and Veronika are exemplary hosts, very helpful with orientation and recommendations. The rooms are immaculate and well appointed, and the breakfast caters to dietary needs. We can't fault Ortigia B&B and highly recommend it.

Nino came to find me and walked me back to the hotel when Google Maps kept rerouting me. I was so relieved to see him that I gave this extremely nice person a big hug! My flight delays meant I arrived late in Catania, then took the bus to Ortigia in the dark. What should have been about a 25 minute walk turned into a frustrating search, so I called him. He's very helpful and has a fantastic memory for the names of everyone staying there. He gave me a very good map of the city. Breakfast was enjoyable, with the little conversations he had with everyone there. His wife makes super yummy cakes, and there was fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juices, toast, meat, and cheese for an Italian breakfast. My room was super clean. The hotel is in an excellent spot, near the Fountain of Diana, with Duomo very close too. Shops, boat tours, and plenty of places to eat are nearby. If you're planning a trip to this lovely town, do yourself a big favor and stay at ORTIGIA BED AND BREAKFAST.

The place is very clean, the staff are attentive, and there's espresso available 24/7. Breakfast vouchers are for a nearby cafe, and you can walk to literally everything. Nino alone is worth 5 stars. He's hands-on and incredibly welcoming, and made us feel like family. Strongly recommend.
