La Casa di Rosa by Wonderful Italy

We left feeling cheated. This stay felt like an endurance test, not a holiday. The apartment was in a shocking state and offered no real chance to rest. A machinery room beside the bedrooms made a constant deafening racket, with the water pump starting every 5-10 minutes, day and night. We couldn’t sleep at night and had to collapse into bed during the day just to get through it. The place hadn’t been cleaned properly, and there was no bed linen at all. That’s unacceptable and, to us, uncivilized. Whatever local customs might be, decent accommodation should provide basic hygiene and bedding. This fell short of the most basic standard. The bathroom was hazardous too. There was an uncovered electrical socket beside the shower, and water collected on the floor instead of draining. After trips to the beach, we had nowhere to hang wet clothes, not even a drying rack. There was no wardrobe, and the clothes rail was useless because anything hung on it touched the floor. The window key was jammed. When we finally forced the window open, part of the mechanism fell out. The woman who handed over the apartment gave us barely three minutes, explained almost nothing, then disappeared. We also weren’t given the Wi-Fi code and had to call several times to get it. The pillows in the kitchen and living area were filthy. There was no dish soap, and barely any toilet paper. Moisture had damaged the walls, with plaster peeling off in several places. The air was thick with a damp, musty smell that stayed even with the window open. But opening it meant hearing the neighbors shouting and stomping, with chaos all around. There was no peace, not even for an hour. We came exhausted from work hoping to recover. Instead, we left even more drained, physically and mentally. The stay took everything out of us. This apartment is in a shocking state of disrepair and completely unsuitable for a proper rest. We can only assume the Wonderful (or rather, Terrible!) Italy team knows about it. Why else insist on full payment in advance? The apartment is disgusting, its condition inexcusable, and the lack of transparency appalling. We’re deeply disappointed and feel cheated. We won’t stay quiet about it. Avoid this accommodation, and be extremely careful with any offers from this company. Under no circumstances should you pay in advance.
