The room and bathroom were spotless, and they cleaned every day. The top floor of an apartment building has been converted into an Airbnb, and the room was more than adequate. Breakfast was fine for a typical Italian morning.

The balcony view of the unusual Cathedral was lovely at any hour, and we found the place well situated. The Archeological Park is about five minutes away on foot, while Ortigia is roughly 15 minutes in almost a straight line. There are a couple of restaurants downstairs and an Asian mini market on the next street that stays open late. Our room on the 5th floor was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with working A/C, good towels, and a shower with plenty of pressure. You can reach the rooms by stairs or a small lift. Check-in was easy for our evening arrival, and communication was great. Breakfast was good too, with fresh homemade chocolate bread, and the nice lady offered us coffee. The bathroom had a persistent drainage smell, and the exterior wall by the balcony needed repairs. Even so, I’d definitely recommend Maryam23.
