Siracusa Resort Musciara

The beach felt like paradise, and we had a lovely stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with wonderful service. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Syracusa.

When I unexpectedly got sick, Laura and Francesca found a doctor right away and even picked up medication for me. I won't forget how quickly and generously they helped. That kind of care matches everything else here: the team is kind, attentive, and never intrusive, with Francesca and her daughter Laura leading it all so smoothly. Musciara Resort, set in a carefully restored former tonnara, has an atmosphere of quiet elegance. Coral details, shells, and natural textures give the interiors a look that could belong in Architectural Digest. The private beach is just as special, with clear water from natural freshwater springs. Francesca explained that to us, and the water has the calm clarity of a saltwater pool, with the Ortigia peninsula across the bay. The place is kept exceptionally clean, and every detail seems cared for. We’ve stayed at some of the world's most exclusive hotels, so we’re not easily impressed, but Musciara has stayed with me long after our visit. It was the most beautiful hotel of our Italian trip and one of the most memorable ideas for a hotel we’ve come across. It deserves to be included by luxury travel curators everywhere, though there’s a quiet magic in how few people seem to know it, especially German travelers. A peaceful, soulful kind of luxury that stays with you.

The room was really comfortable, and we loved having a private beach. My husband and I had a wonderful time, thanks in part to how attentive everyone was and how much care they put into the details. Francesca was especially lovely and gave us great suggestions for dinner and drinks in Ortigia.

Francesca and the whole staff were generous, thoughtful, and attentive. I came away overwhelmed by their hospitality and would recommend staying here to anyone visiting. Having read some of the complaints, I get the impression those guests wanted a deal, were difficult guests themselves, or didn't understand the cost of running lodging at this level.
