The location was just right for my time in Ortagia, really close to the main square, piazza Duomo. I wasn’t there to judge it as a designer, though the room was very clear and some items felt a little old compared with other B&Bs. The service was excellent. They helped us find parking, which is difficult in Ortigia, and the man was very kind and funny. Thank you.

Nothing special, but the weather was good, so we could eat outside.

The mattress in our room was broken, maybe the sort you’d give a dog. Thankfully Booking.com moved us to another property, which was truly lovely. After looking at the place, the owner insisted the mattress was fine. I wonder where she sleeps at night, and hope for the sake of her hypothetical partner, whether married or not, that they don’t have to sleep on it. There’s also a very steep spiral staircase up to the top floor. I don’t think it meets code. If you’re not athletic, avoid booking, as you could seriously hurt yourself.
